Yachana Lodge, a place for learning

Ecotourism is of vital importance to the conservation of the tropical Amazon rainforest. In order to achieve this goal, the Yachana Foundation opened Yachana Lodge and Protected Reserve, which covers more than 1,800 hectares, close to the small community of Mondaña in the Province of Napo, Ecuador.

The tropical rainforest is hot and humid with an average temperature of 27°C and an average rainfall of 3,000 mm per year with a relative humidity of 92%. Yachana Lodge is an internationally recognised Amazonian ecolodge that aims to teach visitors and local inhabitants about the rich diversity of the Amazon and the importance of its conservation.
